Dear Miss Mary van de Laak ,
Thank you for being interested in MSC cruises. We are looking for new adult entertainers, chief entertainers, assistant entertainers, mini-club entertainers, dance instructors, photographers, shop sellers and host/hostess.
Working on board is more than just a job – it’s a life experience and it could be really hard. You will work with people coming from all over the world, in a multicultural environment in beautiful and exotic locations and earning a rewarding salary. Working on board a cruise ship is not for everyone, though, and it is important that you understand both the benefits and the potential drawbacks before making a commitment.
You will share the cabin, toilet and shower facilities with a colleague probably coming from a different nationality. The crew accommodations are small and it is important to respect your cabin mates and to be personally neat and well organized. It is important that you can get along well with your cabin mate, the team and fellow crewmembers.
Living on board means limited access to telephones, email, Skype or post offices. You will probably be home-sick for a while. This is only human. If it is your first time at sea, you will miss your family, your friends, your lover, your dog, your familiar spaces… if that scares you, this may not be the job for you.
To stay in touch with your friends is easy. You have the choice of the ship’s special Crew internet service (Crew charges apply), mobile phones, (calls and SMS) and in most ports, you can use phone cards. Internet cafes exist in most ports.
About the hours of work they are 8 per day but you should be very flexible.
Hopefully I have been able to clarify to you what we as a company are looking for. I hope that you are still enthusiastic about working on board and that you would be willing to take this opportunity and attend one of our casting.
Best Regards,
H.R. Manager
